- Bank Master: Add any bank where the society holds investments.
- Invest Code Master: Define the type of investment (e.g., FD-Fixed Deposit, SA-Savings Account, EQ-Equity).
- Investment Certificate: Keep your FD certificates ready for principal and maturity amount data.
1. Introduction π
Societies often have significant corpus funds that are invested to earn interest. Core Features:
- Maturity Tracking: Automatic calculation of maturity amounts based on the principal and ROI.
- Status Management: View all Live vs Matured vs Renewed investments at a glance.
- Duplicate Control: Prevents entering the same FD Number twice for the same bank.
Note: Investment amounts are separate from your regular bank balance until they are encashed and recorded via a Receipt Voucher.
2. Advanced Features π οΈ
π Renewal Workflow
When an FD matures, you can use the Investment Renew feature:
- The system creates a linked new investment with the matured amount as the principal.
- The original investment is marked as “Matured”, preserving its history for audit audits.
- This creates a direct “paper trail” from the very first investment to its latest renewal.
π Automatic Maturity Alerts
The system uses the ROI (Rate of Interest) and End Date to calculate:
- The Expected Maturity Amount.
- The total holding period in days.
- The status will automatically flag as “Mature” once the system date exceeds the End Date.
π₯ Bulk Portfolio Upload
For societies with hundreds of individual FDs, use the Excel Import utility:
- Download Model: Get the standard
.xlsxtemplate. - Fill Column Headers: Principal, ROI, Start/End dates.
- Validate: Errors (Z1-Z6) flag incorrect bank codes or non-numeric ROI formats.
- Confirm: Uploaded data is instantly cross-referenced against your masters.
3. Reports & Audits π
- π Live Register: A consolidated list of all active society capital.
- π Investment Certificate Report: A printable report detailing every investment’s specifics for society files.
- π Excel Export: A summary report that displays principal totals for easy year-end accounting.
4. Validations & Rules βοΈ
| Validation | Rule |
|---|---|
| Date Paradox | End date cannot be before the Start Date. |
| ROI Limit | Interest rates must be between 0.01% and 99.99%. |
| Principal Format | Principal amount must be a positive number up to βΉ9,99,99,99,999. |

5. Tips for Success π‘
βΉοΈ
- Use Notes: Record the specific purpose of the fund (e.g., “Corpus for New Elevator”) in the Notes field.
- Investor Names: Keep your Investor Names aligned with your society’s bye-laws (e.g., Sinking Fund, Repairs & Maintenance Fund).
- Monitor Dates: Regularly check the Investment Index for any matured FDs that need to be renewed to avoid interest loss.
