The Sales Analysis Report provides the Managing Committee with a multi-dimensional view of the society’s revenue streams. It tracks everything from recurring maintenance billing to late-payment interest and advance payments.

- Monitor Revenue: Track total maintenance billed against budgeted expectations.
- Audit Interest: Review the accuracy of interest charged on late payments.
- Analyze Trends: Spot seasonal income patterns using month-wise summaries.
- Manage Liability: Track income received in advance as a society liability.
2. Report Types & Analysis Use Cases 🚀
The module offers four specialized report types:
A. Sales By Invoice
- Purpose: A chronological log of every invoice generated for members.
- Best For: Daily/Weekly billing reconciliations and checking the success of Bulk Invoicing.
- Key Data: Invoice No, Date, Member Name, Flat No, and Net Amount.
B. Interest Register
- Purpose: Specifically filters for interest-only items across invoices.
- Best For: Governance Review. Helps the committee see exactly how much penalty is being levied on late-paying members.
- Key Data: Member Name, Invoice Date, Principal Amount, and Interest Charged.
C. Sales By Month
- Purpose: Aggregates all income into monthly buckets for a specific financial year.
- Best For: Budget vs. Actual Analysis and presenting financial health during AGMs.
- Key Data: Month, Total Invoiced Value, and Year-to-Date (YTD) totals.
D. Income Received in Advance
- Purpose: Identifies members who have paid maintenance for future periods.
- Best For: Correct Accounting. Ensures that advance amounts are not accidentally treated as current-year income.
- Key Data: Member, Adv Amount, and the duration for which the amount is pre-paid.

Each report provides comprehensive data fields to support deep-dive analysis:

4. Source Transactions 🔄
The report derives its data from:
- Maintenance Invoices: Generated via Standard Invoicing or Bulk Billing.
- Interest Calculation Engine: Automated interest items added to delinquent member bills.
- Voucher Receipts: The source of “Advance Income” entries.
5. Using the Report Interface 🛠ï¸
Selection Filters
- Report Type: Choose from the four views described in Section 2.
- Date Range: Define the period for analysis.
- Compute Advance Date: Required for Report Type D to calculate pre-payments accurately.
Generation Mode
- Print (Excel): Generates a professionally formatted Excel file (
.xlsx) with frozen headers for immediate auditing or spreadsheet analysis.
6. Best Practices / Tips 💡
- Standard Review: Present the Sales By Month report at every monthly committee meeting to show revenue consistency.
- Defaulter Pressure: Use the Interest Register to identify frequent late-payers and initiate recovery proceedings.
- Accounting Accuracy: Ensure the Income Received in Advance report is provided to the auditor during year-end finalization to avoid tax discrepancies.
